Press Relese/Kolkata: ROUND TABLE INDIA hosted ‘Taare Zameen Par’, the annual painting competition for children at City Centre 2 – Rajarhat. The event comprised of sit & draw competition followed by art & craft work, face painting & tattoo making, music and games and activity time followed by prize distribution. Actor, Mr Hiron, Actor & Director, Mr Arindam Sil, Director & Eminent Painter, Shri Wasim Kapoor were present for the occasion. More than 1500 children participated from 40 schools & NGOs including Vivekanand Vidyamandir Barrackpore, Emerging Youth India International, Cultural Social Welfare Society, Gandhi Vidyalaya, Tiljala Shed, Hope Foundation, Unnayan Parishad, Care & Council, Calcutta Rescue, Bustee Welfare Society, Calcutta Social Project, Hope Academy, Treasures of Innocence and many NGOs and underprivileged schools including a group of children from Specially Abled Schools like Manovikas Kendra & Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy. “This is a great way to inspire children’s creativity and develop their skills. We have always nurtured young talent and tried to provide a platform to such blooming minds. This painting Competition is also an excellent platform for the underprivileged students to showcase their art and creativity”, said Prahlad Kedia, Chairman, Kolkata Victorian Round Table 227. The competition was based on the theme of Christmas Tree & Festive Mask Making. The competition was divided into three age groups i.e. Age upto 6 years, 7 years to 12 years and above 12 years. “Sixty leading corporate houses of the city have collaborated together to support this initiative of Round Table India such as Infinity Group, Ambuja Neotia, SREI, Century Ply, Star Cements, Future Group, Dhunseri Group, Turtle, Sanei Motors, J K Masale, Magma Fincorp and many more” said Sahil Saharia, Special Events Convenor for Kolkata Victorian Round Table. Apart from Art Festival, Kolkata Victorian put up a few more entertainment programmes for the day. A Kid’s Carnival for the children was also hosted for the occasion.
