Riddhi Bhattacharya, Sting Newz Correspondent, Kolkata: A riot of colours and innovative contemporary designs today marked Voyage 2017- the gala graduating fashion show of NSHM Institute of Media & Design, Kolkata.
The unique ideation, handcrafted couture and signature craftsmanship of the passing out students forced the large gathering including internationally noted designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh and some stalwarts of the fashion industry to rise in repeated raptures of applause.
NSHM Chief Mentor Cecil Antony was present with other dignitaries. The fashion show was judged by Ms Sruti Ball, Production Head of Sabyasachi Culture, Ms Saborni Das, Winner of National Film Award for Best Costume Design 2013 and Mr Mayank Agarwal, Director Simaaya.
The students showed both menswear and womenswear, although many pieces were not designed for a specific gender – a common feature in fashion of late.
“Voyage” is a platform for the young talented students to showcase their craftsmanship. The students have really worked hard on their creations and their efforts have been duly appreciated. I wish them all the best for their future endeavours” said Mr Cecil Antony Chief Mentor, NSHM Knowledge Campus.
“Voyage” celebrates design collections of graduating students of NSHM Institute of Media & Design. Tailored for the Global Indian, the crowd experienced innovative designs and colours worn by the best in the industry, to dance and shimmy up and down the runways. The event was the culmination of ideas of the young ignited minds,” said Prof. Mrityunjoy Chatterjee, Director, NSHM Institute of Media & Design.
