Samir Rudra, Sting Newz Correspondent, Chapra (Nadia) : Nadia police rescued a 3 year old baby son on Sunday who had been kidnapped at his age of one year. Parents identified the baby.
Samim Seikh (3) of Bangaljhi under Chapra police station area in Nadia was kidnapped from their home on 7 September, 2015.
After that his father Hazu Seikh had lodged a complaint with Chapra Police against a few of his close relatives and subsequently 4 of them were arrested and slapped with with IPC 363/365 and 34.( Case no. 518/15 dated 07/09/2015.)
However, police rescued the baby from the home of one Sanjit Das of Sandhya Mathpara under Bhimpur police station in Nadia on Sunday.
According to primary assumption of the Cop, the baby was kidnapped and sold to the childless couple. On interrogation, Das stated to police that one Bapi of Krishnagar had given the baby to them as they have no issue. The couple nurished the baby for about last two years. But Das refuted any monetary dealing against the baby son. However police was interrogating Sanjit Das and his wife Bijoli, a police sources said.
Police is yet to clear the case as they are not cleared about the abductors.
” We are investigating the case and the miscreants will soon be arrested,” police sources said.
After rescuing Samim from Bhimpur, police fetched him to Chapra police station and called Hazu Seikh and his wife to identify the baby.
According to police, they identified the baby as their son Samim. Their eyes were full of joyful tears.
” We left the hope to get Samim back. It is a greatest gift of ‘ Romjan’ month. Thanks to Allah,” Hazu Seikh said.
However, till last report came, the baby is kept in Chapra police station. Hazu Seikh and his wife are there.
Nadia police super Shees Ram Jhajharia told Sting Newz, ” Some days back, we were reviewing the cases of Children Kidnap. We observed this case was pending. So we gave importance to it. Then the rescue took place today. It is an instance of great success of Nadia police. I congratulate all the members of the investigating team including the Investigating Officer.”
However the baby will be handed over to Child Welfare Committee in Nadia on Monday and then they will take decision on the baby, S.P. added.
