Hot spell continues in Delhi

Sting Newz Desk: The national capital today reeled under a heatwave with the mercury soaring to 43 degrees Celsius in some parts of the city. The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered the official figure for the city, registered a maximum temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average. Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar observatories recorded a maximum temperature of 43.4, 41.4, 42.4 and 42.9 degrees Celsius, respectively, said a Met department official. The minimum temperature settled at 24 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, the official said. The humidity level oscillated between 64 and 18 per cent. The Met office forecast overcast conditions for tomorrow. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 42 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively,” the weatherman said. Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled at 40.6 degrees Celsius.
