Partha Das Boiragya, Sting Newz Correspondent, Tehatta (Nadia): Nadia police arrested a woman from near to Palashipara Pritimoy Rural Hospital in Nadia at around 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday after the cop had seized 10 kg. of ganja from her custody.
The said hospital is also known as Tehatta 2 Block Rural Hospital. The woman was carrying the ganja in a bag. She was identified as Alisha Bibi (40), a resident of Krishnaganj area in Nadia, police said.
According to sources, the said hospital Campus and surrounding have appeared as the Eden of anti social elements. While the alleged anti social activities go on at day time, these increase after the evening. The ganja, alcohol taking and many other unwanted acts take place here.
It concomitances the sale of drugs, ganja etc. at the area and the same was known to the hospital staffs too.
The movement and attitude of the said female had raised suspension among the hospital staffs on Tuesday. She allegedly was loitering in and around of the hospital area.
The some of the staffs brought it to the knowledge of Shyamal Biswas, the Block Medical Officer of Health (BMOH) of Tehatta 2 block in Nadia on Tuesday.
Realizing the gravity of the allegation, he soon informed the police of Palashipara Out Post. They rushed the spot and nabbed the woman while she was trying to ran away after leaving the bag on a motorized van.
The interrogation revealed her illegal act and subsequently the cop recovered the ganja of 10 kg. from her. Police then took her in custody. She would be produced before court.
